purple & pink

Hey!

I have been feeling very inspired to do some colored looks and have fun with it! I decided to reach out for  my good old Coastal Scents 88Original Palette, that was one of my first palettes ever, and decided i wanted to do a pink purple look.

This is the outcome! I really like it, its not to extreme except for the eyeliner that´s a bit over the top haha.
Sorry about my eyebrows in advance, i promise they'll look better next time and more groomed ;)

Hope you liked this look!

vibrant yellow eye liner

Hey!

As i am writing this i am sitting here with this look on right now since i was so exited to share it with you i didn´t even bother taking it off! Im so happy with the result!

So today i decided to try a pallet i've had for a while and its the Krayolan Aquacolor pallet. It has 6 colors in it and if you mix them with a teeny tiny bit of water the color will stand out an incredible amount. Its amazing and the colors are so vibrant!
I wanted to do a yellow eyeliner look since i've been seeing a lot of eyeliner looks in really strong colors for the spring and summer trends. Im really happy with the result and i personally really like this. Definitely not for everyday but a great party look or a runway inspired look!

I'll have a products list down below of everything i used.

Put some make up on my lips and a simple nude gloss over.

the pallet has some beautiful colors in them and they are great for more dramatic looks!

Face Products:

  • MAC Studio Fix Foundation in NW20
  • Revlon Stay Matter powder in Translucent
  • H&M Blusher in nr 12 Dazzling Peach
  • A champagne colored eye shadow for a bit of a highlight
Eyes & Eybrows
  • A matte white eyeshadow from the GloMinerals pallet
  • Krayolan Aquacolor in Yellow used as eye liner
  • H&M black liquid liner
  • L´Oreal contour Kohl in black
  • L´Oreal collagene 24h mega volume mascara in black
  • ELF eye brow kit in dark brown

life - the past two weeks

Hey!

So i might have been a bit missing in action the past two weeks, i admit i kind of had no idea what to write about! :o
I'll try and keep more at it!

I got back to Norway and have not been doing much, just hanging out with some friends, working a little bit and then of course easter just finished!

So its been a really laid back couple of weeks.
But i think its time to kick it up a notch and pay some serious attention to this blog! I'll try and get a good routine going.

So as nothing super exiting beauty-wise has happened i thought i should share some personal life pictures and such with you guys :)

enjoy!

Was gifted this beautiful Norwegian style Easter egg! I love it :)

This girl never fails to make me smile, always so much fun with her!

Norway is so beautiful! I´m so amazed!

summer feels so close when we start to bbq!

Got my hair done.. I put in some blonde highlights for the summer season

Today i took a selfie because i dont know why. So lets end this post with it!
Hope you guys have had a good couple of weeks!

review - inglot cream powder foundation

Hey!

I think its about time that i give you a small review on a product i purchased a few days ago, the Inglot Cream Powder foundation. You might have seen it in a mini haul and i mentioned there i would do a review soon.

So i've been using this for about 10 days and i have been taking notes on how i feel about it. When i tried this foundation in the store i fell in love with it! I loved the consistency and how it felt when i applied it but personally i would have like more of a mousse like the Maybeline Mousse foundation. It tends to dry and turn into ''powder'' super quickly after you apply it so the blending must be done real quick so it does not dry in blotches on your face. If you have dry skin stay away from this foundation because it will only make them worse and highlight them!
My next point - i felt as that a lot of product was being wasted when i applied it with a brush or the sponge, kind of like the applicators absorb the product. I was really disappointed in the coverage as well since the lady in the shop assured me that the coverage would be really good. She lied haha! I felt that i needed to apply lots of layers and by the end of it my face felt a bit heavy and caked up, and that did not look good at all. But the good thing about it is that the longer you wear it the better it looks, since your body heats it up and blends it with your skin and by the end of the day it looked good on me.

I did figure out how to make it look flawless by putting on a thin layer of liquid foundations, or a BB cream. I used the BB cream from Garnier and those two together looked natural with fair amount of coverage without being cakey!

So in conclusion i don´t think i would buy this foundation again. Its a nice idea but does not suit my skin as i have very combined skin and it does not look good on dry cheeks! I did like the price of it as Inglot is considered more of a high end brand, i bought mine for around 28$ in Iceland but in the USA it retails for 18$.

Have you tried this foundation and if so what are your thoughts on it?

wish list - april

1- Real Techniques starter kit  2- Real Techniques Core Collection kit
3- MoroccanOil Treatment 4- Benefit Stay Flawless 15hr Primer

5- NARS Laguna & Orgasm bronzing Duo 6- UrbanDecay NAKED2  Palette
7- Stila Convertible Colour Trio Warm 8- MAC Diva Lipstick
Hi! So these are the top beauty products i am craving to get my hands on! If you click on the names under neath the pictures it will take you to where you can purchase these bad boys :)
I have yet to purchase these but they are sure going to be all mine sooner or later!

I've been wanting to expand my brush collection for a while  now and after i purchased the Real Techniques Expert face brush i decided i needed more from them! I'm absolutely hooked on that brush and i am sure i will love the rest of their collections!
Moroccan Oil has been on the list for a loooong long time after youtubers hyped it up and raved about it being the best thing on this planet for your hair! Since i colour my hair dark every 6 weeks  it dries out a lot and im always looking for some good products to revive it and give it that extra boost!

Nars Laguna&Orgasm duo has also been on my wishlist for a while, also since the youtubers started raving about it a few years back! And plus i am starting to need a new blusher and bronzer...
I decided i did not want the Naked 3 palette at the moment since the colors dont really appeal to me but i am wanting the naked 2 and possibly the original naked palette! I´m a sucker for shimmery neutral toned eye shadows and i love a good brown smokey eye.
Ohh this Mac lipstick is just one of the few that i am wanting so badly. I've wanted a deep red one for some time and i just cant stop thinking about this one. I also want Mac's Prince Noir and Mac's Dark side.. and so many others! I just recently started getting more into Mac after i got one lipstick as a gift a few months back and i've always thought it was way overrated but oh how wrong was i! I can understand everyone's obsession ;)

whats on your wishlist?

reykjavik fashion festival

Hi! So this weekend 28th til the 30th was the Reykjavik Fashion Festival, a festival where new and old designers can showcase their new work and possibly get noticed by the world! Its a huge yearly event and of course a huge fuss for us Icelanders. We take a lot of pride in it!
I sadly did not volunteer or get myself a ticket since i did not think i would be in Iceland this weekend so i missed out on some great shows and i will admit i'm a bit bummed out! Hopefully next year i'll be able to maybe do some stylist or make up work on the festival, who knows! Anyways i missed out but i did look through some (a lot actually!) of pictures from this weekends shows and i have to admit that there are some favorites! There where about 8 designers, some have been there before such as JÖR by Guðmundur Jör and some new ones like Sigga Maija.
I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite looks from this weekend but i think all of the designers did a fantastic job. Iceland is really placing itself on the fashion map and we just get bigger every year which is amazing. There were so many awesome looks that i had a hard time choosing! One of my favorite designers this year was Rey, her style seemed really simple, feminine and elegant. Sigga Maija also stood out since she had a beautiful pop of blue and red which was incorporated into everyday wear.

All pictures are from the photographer Birta Rán who runs the website http://www.birtaran.com and she kindly let me use the ones i like to put up on my blog :)

Next up is a couple of pictures from the Farmers Market fashion show - i love that the models have natural red/ginger hair, really does suit the show itself and captures the 'farming' look without being to stereotypical haha.

Sigga Maija was a newbie at the RFF and she did a fantastic job! She really has an eye for vibrant colours and prints and makes them work together. She's for sure bringing some new stuff to the table and it looks good. I am personally in love with the blue color and in picture two there's a purse that i am dying to get my hands on!

These are just a few of my favorites from this weekend but trust me there are a lot more! Its just to much to drown you guys in pictures on here so if you are interested in seeing a lot more fantastic pictures from the shows you should head on over to http://www.birtaran.com/ for some more awesome stuff!

Hope you enjoyed seeing a few of my faves from this weekend, what are yours? :)

new in - mini haul

So i've been in Iceland since Tuesday due to family issues and decided to go meet up with a close friend of mine on Thursday and it of course ended up with us going shopping!
I desperately needed  to buy some kind of an eyebrow kit, i've been using just a pencil and some eyeshadow and it kept smudging! Was getting very annoying and it looked super fake! So i got the elf eyebrow kit (in the color dark) and i absolutely love it! I will do a mini review on it sooner or later :)
We then wandered into the Inglot store here in Iceland in search of some lipsticks, i was trying to hunt down the perfect dark plum-berry lip color and i have not yet succeeded BUT i did happen to find a foundation that i was really wanting to try. I convinced myself i needed a new foundatiron as i didnt have one (i have like 50) and i bought the Inglot Cream Powder foundation. I am in the process of reviewing that so stay tuned if you want to know more about it :)

We also hit the jackpot with some super sales at this store called Define the Line, they have some beautiful dresses and a lot to choose from! I picked up two dresses and they only cost me a 1000kr each! Which is around 8 or 9 us$! Super bargain and i am very happy with them! Cant wait to wear them in the summer. Really sorry for the bad quality picture but im still getting the hang of taking pictures of not myself (selfie queen i admit it)!
so perfect for summer!
So that concludes my mini haul, hope you enjoyed and we'll talk soon.
